Sifu Ryan Howard, owner of the San Antonio Shaolin-Do schools and my personal teacher of over 9 years, will be visiting us on Friday October 19. to teach out the following 2 seminars. Please join me in supporting his visit to our growing school. Seminar begins at 7pm.
The cost for both of these seminars is only $70 if you pay by Tuesday October 16, $80 after that.

Entwine the Dragon Staff Pang Lang Pang... This beautiful staff form tells the story of China's fictional Monkey King and how he soared through the clouds and created the Milky Way with his iron staff that was given to him by the Dragon King

This form has it ALL! It will have you...
- Leaping across the floor while spinning your weapon around your head.
- Slamming your weapon on the ground with great power.
- Fighting off multiple attackers at multiple ranges.
- Kicking, punching and sweeping while using your staff.

The Monkey King
is a rebellious extraordinary being, born out of a rock, and fertilized by the grace of Heaven.  Legend has it that he could transform himself into seventy-two different images such as a tree, a bird, a rock, etc... to sneak up on his enemies and attack with complete surprise. Using clouds as a vehicle he could travel 180,000 miles with a single leap and swung a huge iron staff that created the Milky Way and could expand or shrink at its owner's command.
I will hold a review session for this form the following two saturdays from 1-1:30.

Candle Seminar
It's much more than just a cool party trick.

As the cooler weather approaches, I would like to remind everyone to start bringing comfortable sneakers to class with you. If you do not have any, I have martial arts shoes available for sale. There are numerous choices. If you are interested, feel free to see me. If I dont have them in stock, I can order them for you.

There will be no classes on Saturday, October 20th. I will be spending the day training with my Teacher.

I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank all of my assistant instructors for helping me out with classes. As our school grows, I will need you more and more, and I think I speak for all of your fellow students when I say I appreciate you dedicating your time to helping our school as well as our students grow. Johnny, Steve, Shaun, Mike, Kellie, Hanny, You are all truly an exceptional representation of what our school is becoming.

As for the rest of you, I always welcome help. My teacher once put out a newsletter entitled "the best kata you will ever learn". The main premise behind it was that the best way to truly learn your material is to teach it. I invite any student green belt and above to help me with any class (including kids). It will change the way you look at your lower rank material.
