DAGGER UPDATE
Yin Yang Dagger was developed my Bak Mei (White Eyebrow)  Bak Mei was one of the most fearsome fighters in the history of Chinese martial arts.  In his vast fighting experience he discovered that Tai Chi and Pa Kua practitioners were his most formidable opponents.  Bak Mei also recognized the dagger as the most dangerous weapon.  His reasoning was that in all other weapons a person's chi was too far away from the offensive part of the weapon.  With that dagger the attackers chi was right there at the blade.  
 
Based on his experience with Tai Chi and Pa Kua fighters and the dagger as a weapon he thought he would devise the ultimate form a person should learn to have any chance in defeating the legendary Bak Mei.  Yin Yang Dagger is essentially a combination of Tai Chi and Pa Kua principles using the dagger.  It is broken into two separate forms - the Yin Dagger and Yang Dagger.
 
The deadline to order daggers for Master Grooms seminar is this thursday. Please pay the $20 so I can order and receive the daggers in time.

This is a great form and the first of many that you will learn this summer/fall.

SIFU BILL TEACHES OUT SWALLOW SWOOPS DOWN FROM HEAVEN DAGGER.
This is a great form, easy to learn, with lots a fun applications.
Cost: $25
This form is free to all 1st degree black belts as it is part of your curriculum.

IF YOU PAY BY THIS THURSDAY FOR BOTH KATAS, THE TOTAL PRICE IS $70 ($90 IF YOU NEED DAGGERS).


Lots of Changes
Be on the lookout for lots of changes at the school. We will be adding a weight set (thanks to Hanny), punching dummy (thanks to Jayne) and a few other surprises in September. I will also be offering drinks at the school soon. Choices will include bottled water, powerade, and rockstar energy drinks. If all goes as planned, they will be offered for only $2! Much cheaper than you can find at the store. I will also try to set up an account system whereby we can run your account once a month for the drinks. Just put it on your tab! 

There is an incredible energy at the school lately. I know you have all felt it. This is the energy surge that will help propel our school to the next level, and you are all a part of that. I want to thank all of you for energizing me each and every day. I always feel great when I am in classes, no matter what is happening outside these wall.


Important News
It is almost time for our summer break. I am sorry we waited so long, but I have a trip to hawaii coming up, so I chose to take the break then. The school will be closed from Tuesday, August 26th through Tuesday September 2nd. Enjoy the break. this includes the labor day break.

I am looking for students green belt and above to help out with the kids classes and our newest afterschool program here in Brandon (thank you kellie and steven). This is a great way to improve your current skills. I have always said there is no better way to learn material than by teaching it. Be a part of this.
I will be holding assistant instructor meetings and maybe just teach out a free seminar to those who consistently show up to help.
There is a dry erase board in the back now, I will follow up with instructions on how to sign up.
